On Monday, October 21, Kibor was given an opportunity to address a men’s mentorship forum and he did not disappoint, Daily Nation reported.
This is after the farmer was mentioned among keynote speakers of hoax online Valentine’s Day meeting in February.
During his much anticipated address Kibor, known for having a penchant of fine cars and things i life, encouraged men to stand up and defend their positions in society by avoiding to be swayed by their wives.
“Men should be strong as heads of the family. This does not stop when one grows old,” he said during the conference themed Men and Seven Mountains of Social Influence.
The octogenarian who is unmatched in the wheat and maize fields however, did not have kind words for youthful sluggards.
He was appalled that many youths are lazy and want to benefit from their parents’ wealth without breaking sweat, a trend he strongly disagrees with.
“You want to enjoy life using your parents’ wealth! That’s unacceptable. You only eat what you have worked for. Young people need to stop drinking too much and eat healthy foods. In my farm I have a lot of traditional foods which are good for the body,” he said.
He said a healthy diet was the secret to his longevity.
Kibor who had a legal battle with his six sons over their claim of a portion of his vast Kabenes land narrated why he withdrew decision to allocate the fertile field to his heirs.
“One of my sons was making over KSh 4 million per year from a maize farm I had allocated him. He passed on due to drinking related problems and I feared the trend would affect the others,” said Kibor.
The ever smiling farmer and former defunct Wareng Municipal Council chairperson also cautioned men against being violent against their wives.
The conference was moderated by former Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly Speaker Albert Kochei and participants paid KSh 2,000 each to attend.
“This event is aimed at helping men who are struggling with identity crisis to overcome the challenge,” Kochei said.
