Politics about 2022 thrived today during the awarding ceremony of retired teachers in Tenges ward, Baringo Central.
Area MCA Silas Tochim started by accusing Baringo Senator Gideon Moi for not attending functions within the County.
Tochim further said that the senator has been missing in action for sometime now while the locals are languishing in hunger and insecurity.
He also noted that the community should be careful not to be locked out in the next government saying that it should back deputy president William Ruto since he is ahead of the perk.
"They are trying to fix him on issues to do with lifestyle audit, corruption and also the new currency which he is very innocent" he said.
Tiaty MP William Kamket who was also present during the forum responded by saying that Senator Moi is the only one who is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after his term expires
"Even no one belived that Mzee Moi would become the president of this country but at last he led for 24 years" said Kamket.
He added that the speed at which DP Ruto is campaigning will cost him his presidential bid.
At the same time, he wondered why Ruto and his allies are scared of the fight against corruption, adding that the Tanga Tanga team is fond of crying foul all the time.
"I will stand together with Gideon Moi until the end since I am confident that he will be the president " said Kamket.
Moiben MP Silas Tiren called upon Kenyans to stand against corruption instead of keeping quite for the sake of political psycophancy.
He said that cases of corruption in the country which is being perpetrated by political leaders has impoverished the citizenry.
"Maybe you are not even inviting your Senator and yet you blame him for not attending your functions. But what I know is that he is busy representing your rights at the national level" said Tiren.
He questioned why the government is planning to import maize instead of buying from local farmers.
Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie said that his only focus is Development and he will not be swayed to support any of the two factions because of political popularity.
"The plans that I have for my people should be implemented first before we start engaging in politics which don't necessarily help wananchi" affirmed Kandie.
Baringo woman representative Gladwell Cheruiyot, called upon the leaders to desist from politics and yet 2022 is still far.
"Politics is like a chameleon and things keep on changing. Let's also stop tarnishing each other's names in public forums. We should respect Kenyans who voted for us" she said.
Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis was also present during the ceremony which saw over 20 retired teachers being awarded in the event which was organized by Tenges Development Forum.
