MP GRACE KIPCHOIM CONDEMNS THE ARREST OF MAKUTANI MCA

Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim has condemned the arrest of Makutani Ward MCA Renson Parkei. Speaking to the press, Kipchoim said security officers should hunt down and arrest murder susects first instead of training their guns on the county legislator. “It is regrettable that security officers are arresting county leaders while they are yet to arrest suspected raiders and those involved in the killings,” said Kipchoim who called for the immediate release of the MCA. The was arrested over alleged incitement of members of the public following retaliatory attacks that led to the loss of three lives. The county rep us alleged to have mande inflammatory statement at a meeting held in Sadai area on 1st of February. The meeting had been convened by the local administration officials in bid to discuss rising insecurity issues in the area. However the meeting was disrupted after the Member of County Assembly rose and made a polarising statement that forced the meeting to end in disarray.
