Baringo County Commissioner, Peter Okwanyo has said that the police involved in yesterday's saddle wood smuggling saga will be sacked and prosecuted.
Okwanyo who was speaking during Jamhuri Day Celebration in Kabarnet yesterday confirmed that a Baringo police lorry was nabbed stuck in mud while containing Sandalwood cargo. He said although the culprits escaped but have been indentified.
Okwanyo urged all law-abiding citicens including chiefs of the county to report any criminal activities to the police.
Baringo County Governor, Benjamin Cheboi, who spoke alongside the commissioner advised residents to report any corrupt occurences to the security agencies." You should report any incidents of corruption to security personel," said Cheboi.
Similar celebrations were conducted in every Sub-County with Marigat hosting a football match dubbed Mama County Cup sponsored by Baringo Women Rep Hon Grace Kiptui after the event.
