This year TTCs (Teachers Training Colleges) will admit students to undertake a diploma course in pursuit of their teaching carrier.
Previously Primary teachers have been attaining P1 certificate after two year course of completion. The diploma will replace the P1.
This comes amid a week after MOE ordered the students who had joined the college with low entries to quit and look for other courses elsewhere claiming that the entry grade for teacher colleges remain as it has been (grade c).
Remember the affected students were admitted during the tenure of the former Education CS Amina Muhamed.
They had undergone the teaching profession for two terms and had paid the fees. They are currently in darkness. After receiving this order, their dreams seem to have been shuttered. Most of them claim to like the teaching carrier despite the fact that they did not attain the required grade.
